I haven't posted anything for a while. Obviously it's a good thing I'm not an author. Words obviously aren't my favorite way of expressing myself :) So here's a little update on what happened since the last time I blogged:
Readers picked the cover they liked best for Into Deep Waters and I was beyond stocked that they chose the one with the two mature guys on it. I made that cover mostly as a joke and I never expected it to be picked. It's a very traditional romance cover with very non-traditional models. I personally think silver foxes are dead sexy so people choosing that one made me very happy!

Kaje Harper wrote Show Me Yours, another free story and I got to design that cover too. Readers liked that one maybe even more than the one for Into Deep Waters and I'm very pleased how it turned out.

Wade Kelly asked me to design a cover for his self-published novel The Cost of Loving. He and I are very pleased by how ended up like. One of the perks of designing covers is that I get to read the book beforehand and this one is absolutely great!
At the moment Wade is still editing it and I'll post here when it gets released.
Read more about the book on Wade Kelly's blog.
Wade has another novel in the works which is called Love, Trust and Learning to Live Again and we already finished designing the cover. This one is the one I'm the most proud of and I can't wait to show it you.

In November Kaje Harper asked me to design a cover for her free story Compensations which is part of the Life Lessons series. Since all her free stories in this series don't have faces on their covers, it wasn't very easy to come up with something that was still very romantic but readers seem to like it.
If you have some experience with Photoshop, you'll know that replacing a background for something semi-transparent like glass isn't easy. It took some fiddling around but the end result is pretty good.
Another thing I love is the font on the cover. It's called Disturbance and I bought it years ago because I thought it was very beautiful and finally I got to use it! If you've read Compensations, you'll know why it's such a great fit for the story. Fonts are one of my passions and I always try to find ones that will complement the story.

The cover for Show Me Yours got nominated in the Goodreads M/M Romance group's Member's Choice Awards. Just to be on the same list as some of the designers whom I admire so much made me absolutely happy.
